Community Projects

Picturing Garnethill

Help us create new bespoke curtains for the Multicultural Centre’s upstairs hall!

What’s it all about?

This creative project started with some small community workshops in the Multicultural Centre and the goal of creating new bespoke curtains for the Multicultural Centre’s upstairs hall. The last ones were donated by a local shop a couple of decades back (AT LEAST) and they need replaced! Now, we have lots of drawings, memories and community input and we’re starting to look for other organisations to come in and help us realise this dream!

Get Involved

If you’re a local organisation or business (or even a very generous individual!) - based in Garnethill - we’d love to build on the past tradition of community collaboration and ask that you help us with completing this project in any way you can. We’re looking for financial help, gifts in kind and your creative input too. But you can scoop up some pretty nice perks by helping us out.

You can see there are four different perks to helping us out, depending on how much you can assist us. Each one is added to the last, so if you choose option 4, you actually get all of them! So that’s an illustration of your business for your own web and social media use, public thank yous on our social media channels, an invitation to the big launch event at the multicultural centre and - the big one - the original illustration framed and ready for you to display however you choose!

Spread the Love

We would love to have as many places make links with us as possible and it will allow us to spread the love and make the project brilliant. Your help will go towards paying a local artist to work on the project, printing the fabric, making the curtains and the launch event too. If we end up having more help than expected, we can then run free creative workshops for the community or even make an investment in other projects branching out from this one. Local illustrator, Rosie Cunningham is the artist working on this project, so she has offered to create the illustrations for the local organisations!
