Garnethill Heritage Walk
We have many wonderful heritage buildings and places of interest right on our doorstep. Starting at the centre, take a wander around Garnethill and explore the spectacular built heritage of our unique city centre location.
Garnethill forms part of the Glasgow Central Conservation Area. It is bordered by Sauchiehall Street, with Blythswood to the south and Dundasvale / Cowcaddens to the north.
Garnethill Multicultural Centre, 21 Rose Street was built as a tenement block in 1825. Our building is one of the oldest tenement blocks in Garnethill. From the 1830's onward Garnethill saw gaps and garden ground progressively built on creating workmanlike traditional Glasgow tenements on every street in Garnethill.

Panoramic Views and Modern Interventions
The overlaying of post-war, inter-war, Edwardian and Victorian architecture onto Glasgow's Georgian grid has resulted in a visually diverse area already made interesting by panoramic views all around, especially from the Garnethill View Point at the end of Hill Street.
Garnethill continues to be enriched by modern interventions such as Garnethill Mural & Mosaic (1979), Garnethill Park (1990), Garnethill Community Garden (2012), Garnethill Pizza Oven (2018) & Chookie Bird Lighting (1994).
