GLASGOW FILM FESTIVAL COMMUNITY TAKEOVER DAY

Community Takeover Day: Saturday 8th March
Glasgow Film Festival Community Takeover Day is a free cinema event, created with and for our communities around Glasgow and will be a day of free film, activities and food. This event will cater to all ages and will be planned by members of the local community. The event is entirely free to attend.
Over the next two months before GFF25 Community Takeover Day on Saturday 8 March we will have monthly planning meet ups.
The next planning meet up is Saturday 18th January 12-1.30pm We will be meeting to watch trailers and pick films in The Lounge, Garnethill Multicultural Centre

MONTHLY FILM CLUB
We will be hosting GFT’s monthly film club discussion group!
Glasgow Film Club is a monthly sliding-scale film screening at our neighbours Glasgow Film Theatre. It is held on the 3rd Wednesday of the month. The next screening is A Real Pain on Wednesday 15th January at 18.10 followed by the film club at 20.00.
Please join us at Garnethill Multicultural Centre after the screening to chat about the film in a relaxed atmosphere. You can expect a welcoming environment and a casual club feel rather than a formal discussion group. Refreshments provided. No need to sign up - just come on the day! Everyone is welcome to come and chat about the film!
Meet in the GFT Foyer after the film to walk over to GMC.

In partnership with Garnethill Multicultural Centre, Modern Films & Migrant Voice, we invite you to a free screening of Green Border. This multi-award-winning movie tells the story of a refugee family from the Middle East stuck at a Polish-Belarussian border during the latest humanitarian crisis.
There will be some time to talk about the film after the screening.

MARTHA - A PICTURE STORY
Wednesday 24th July, 6pm

As part of our community safety / street art project, this month, GFT will be screening Martha, A Picture Story.. Set in 1970’s New York, the film follows photographer Martha Cooper as she captures some of the first images of graffiti at a time when the city had declared war on it.
The filming is in partnership with SWG3, Yardworks, Generations Working Together, Garnethill Multicultural Centre and GFT, as we work together with the local community to improve community safety, collaboration and bringing older & younger people together.
