I’m sorry to have to report that Glasgow City Council have refused to grant the Centre further Core funding after September 2020.
Just when we had received the endorsement of the Scottish Land Fund who invested £330k in allowing us to bring the building into community ownership, in February this year, losing financial support from Glasgow City Council feels like a like another huge blow to a community who have suffered so much over the last few years.
This decision could have a devastating impact on c.1000 regular users of the Centre, not to mention the staff, partners and stakeholders.
The Trustees and Staff are currently making every effort to identify alternative funding to secure the future of this vital, community run and locally led community centre, the only one in the city centre.
We are determined to keep the doors open one way or another.
