Following the government advice/instructions regarding reducing social contact, we have decided it is time to close the GMC to meetings.
This has been a difficult decision for us but in light of recent directives by the Government aimed at reducing social contact in order to slow the spread of the Covid 19 virus we feel it would be irresponsible of us to allow meetings to continue.
I had been hoping we could maintain this service particularly for AA and NA groups but unfortunately the seriousness of the situation at large, and also our duty of care towards staff, overrides this.
I hope you agree.
There are still two activities which I am hoping we can safely continue. These are :
1) Food distribution on Friday
and 2) Refugee Survival trust (RST) Grant application processing by CWIN
The food distribution will be made from the Basement fire exit door to the old Tearoom.
The RST grants will be dealt with at the glass door or hatch at the outer reception by the main door. The hours when these applications will be accepted is to be greatly reduced and I will make another post when this has been agreed with CWIN.
The office remains open at present and I can still be contacted via email firstname.lastname@example.org .
I should also say that even this low level of opening may change due to either government directives or staff illness.
I will keep you updated on any further developments
Stay safe and stay at home unless absolutely necessary
